No, not at all. The lower seat incline is far too great for a newborn. Unlike the B-Dual the lower seat doesn't go flat. I wasn't really happy when my baby fell asleep in the lower seat as he flopped to one side, and the seat is open and flat so there was no support for him whereas the upper seat is very supportive for a small baby. If Hauck made the lower seat drop flat like the B-Dual then it would transform the usability of this pushchair for two children from birth.

Do you think it would be possible to add a soft carrycot of some sort to the bottom seat for a newborn? X

Hi Jade,
If you swap threads to this one: https://www.bestbuggy.co.uk/2011/05/hauck-duett-raincover-possible-newborn-mode-for-rachael/ you will see that someone else asked a similar question about the carrycot and as a result I took a set of photos for her and my response is on there.
I haven't had a car seat to try with my Duett, but if you look at the video and also at the photos on the statistics page the child underneath would basically have to be reclined when using either a carrycot or car seat.

Hi, I was told that the Hauck 0+ seat will fit. The fold length is only 102cms so with the handle pushed in and either the front and/or back wheels removed you should save vital cms. Removing the back wheels will also save you some width cms too. The wheels are easy to pop on and off.

Hi, I am really intersted in this buggy. My lo will be 18mths old when new addition arrives. Currently using Hauck Apollo 4. Does any1 know if the car seat (hauck 0+) that I already have will fit? Also based on the stats it wont fit in my boot needs to be 100cm or less (ford fiesta 5dr) if the wheels come off what is the minimum fold down size? Any help greatly appreciated

I also purchased for my 23 month old and 2 month old...we don't have the car seat so not sure how I will manage in the next few months till she's big enough to sit up. My 23 month old son (so far)likes sitting in the lower seat and even cried when i tried to get him out this morning!
I have a question however...did you have a problem with the straps on the basket (attaching in the front of the chassis). They weren't attached to the frame when we opened the box and took it out...and now i can't see how to attach it. It has one half of the button on the black strap, but i can't see the other half to attach. Any chance one of you could take a pic and show me how it's attaching? Could be a defect on mine...Also did you receive the wheel guards or are they extra...they were also missing in my box.

I have recently purchased this pushchair, i have a 21 month old & newborn & i am currently using this with the car seat on top & lower seat for my 21 month old. I was unsure as to how my daughter would be sitting in the lower seat, however she absolutly loves it, i am able to sit her upright & i dont feel that her view is restricted. I too had to get used to the fold of this pushchair but after a few times i am now able to easily do this. The car seat is extreemly easy to use & simply clicks into the frame of the pushchair. I am so happy with my purchase, this pushchair offers excellent value for money & is very well made.
