Bugaboo Cameleon³ at The Baby Show, Manchester, 2012, by Aswalia

I went to The Baby Show in Manchester in order to have a look and try of some of the new pushchairs to the market. On my list of must-sees was the new Bugaboo Cameleon³

However I only had opportunity for a quick look at the Bugaboo Cameleon³ and I couldn’t spot a seat unit to try on it, just the carrycot on display. My impressions of it are good though. The new Petrol Blue tailored fabrics look smart. I like the finish of the chassis and the slightly more angular edges on the profile of the chassis. The swing away bumper bar looks a more practical, less rounded shape now as it won’t hinder the view of a baby lying in the carrycot with the apron on in the same way the Cameleon 1 and 2 do. The biggest differences are obvious while folding the Bugaboo Cameleon³. With the carrycot removed, the chassis had no movement in it which means no collapsing to the floor while moving the seat unit or carrycot between the car and the chassis. During unfolding, the absence of the prongs above the front wheels means that there is no scratching along the floor causing damage to the plastic which is a good improvement. The fold lock has been removed on the Bugaboo Cameleon³ meaning that it is now easier to unfold but it is much more unwieldy to carry and I think could be quite awkward to place into a car.

I would like to add my thanks to Ladybugs for allowing me to take photos, let my daughter have a look too, and for us both to have a general play with their pushchairs.
