Baby Elegance Sketch at the Harrogate Nursery Fair 2014

The Baby Elegance Sketch was a fabulous find at the Harrogate Nursery Fair.

The Baby Elegance Sketch is a lightweight – just 6.2kgs – pushchair which is robust and very much a pushchair rather than a buggy. It felt sturdy and comfortable to push. The seat both forward faces and reverse faces, and importantly the Baby Elegance Sketch will fold with the seat left on, in either direction, into a lovely neat freestanding fold.

The Baby Elegance Sketch lies flat and thus is suitable from birth and Baby Elegance make a snuggy buggy which was a beautiful snuggly cocoon for a young baby. It was absolutely gorgeous and all fleece lined. The Sketch will also take a Baby Elegance 0+ car seat.
The seat has a button recline. This button is also used to remove the seat from the chassis.

The Baby Elegance Sketch comes with a black hood, but there is a choice of optional extra hood colours for a fresh look or to make it personal to you. The hood fixes open on each side with a lock, however the hood also can be tilted forwards to give excellent protection to the child whatever the weather.

There is a multi positional tilting handle which means it should suit a variety of parental heights. There is a swing away bumper bar and an adjustable calf rest.

There is a generous sized basket and ultra manoeuverable front wheels. There is rear suspension and a footbrake which I did find tricky but it was a prototype which was on display.

We reviewed two Baby Elegance pushchairs last year, and the Beep Twist in particular did very well in our testing and we used it a lot last summer. We are very excited about the Sketch because it seems to do everything we need in a pushchair, plus it is lightweight and suitable from birth. We think the Sketch is a pushchair to have a look at.

Best of all is the price. The Baby Elegance Sketch is just £230 which for a reversible seat, fold with the seat on, lightweight pushchair, suitable from birth is absolutely brilliant. It really will plug a gap in the market for a cheap, but good quality pushchair which is several hundred pounds cheaper than its rivals the Bugaboo Bee, Stokke Scoot and iCandy Raspberry. The Baby Elegance Sketch will come as part of a bundle seat which includes the pushchair, car seat, a snuggy buggy and a hood colour of your choice all for just £325. That is an absolute bargain!!

Master BB (aged 3 years 7 months is 93cms tall – he is the size of a typical 2 and a half year old) looked very happy in the seat!

We have been promised the first Baby Elegance Sketch here at BBHQ for photos and testing, and we are looking forward to trying the finished production model out. The Sketch is due in the UK in April 2014.
