Baby Jogger City Select Lux

Baby Jogger have given one of our old favourites an update for 2017. The new Baby Jogger City Select Lux is a pushchair not just one child, or two children, or three children! Baby Jogger have made an add on jump seat for those who prefer more space for an older child. In total there are over 20 configurations.

The new jump seat is a hard plastic seat – a little like a step which fits rear facing into the basket area of the City Select Lux. The front seat can then either forward or parent face whilst the child on the jump seat parent faces. A footboard comes down between the rear wheels. The child is meant to sit on the jump seat and rest their feet on the board. It is not designed to be a replacement for a Glider board. There is a 3 point harness attached to the seat. Three children can still be carried, as previously, by using the 2 seats, and then adding a glider board on at the rear.

The City Select Lux will have a proper jogger type hand / parking brake – not a parking one at the side like it currently has, but one which can be used actively to decelerate as you stroll along to slow the pushchair down. This should give more control when pushing especially down hill. Just don’t try running with it!

The Baby Jogger City Select Lux is also more compact when folded – 30% more compact because the seats now fold like the Versa and Premier seats. The pushchair will still only fold with one seat on because the seats each need space to fold over in half, so one needs removing; but we have been told that the second seat can be added back onto the chassis once the seat is folded; or the seats will stack neatly along with the chassis as in our photo above.

The wheels have been improved along with the suspension, although the front seat is still directly over the front wheel, and will probably make this still difficult to manoeuvre and get up and down kerbs. However, we will have to wait and see how this fares once it arrives in the UK.

Baby Jogger have also made a neat storage bag which fits instead a seat unit on the City Select. It clips into the seat sockets.

The City Select Lux fabrics will be similar to the Baby Jogger City Premier and will come in Taupe, Graphite, Slate and Port.

Awesome! We can’t wait to try out the Baby Jogger City Select Lux and jump seat when it arrives in the UK in Summer 2017.
