Joovy Ergo Photoset

This is a photoset of the Joovy Ergo Caboose.

Just a few things of note.

The Joovy Ergo front seat is mesh – its is designed to distribute the weight of the child evenly across the seat. However I expected the mesh to be flexible but it is a hard mesh. Ideally it needs the luxury seat pads on it, but unfortunately I was unable to ship any to the UK. My eldest did not like sitting on the seat as it currently is. I did not feel comfortable having my 12 month old (who falls asleep instantly on outings) in the front seat with a shallow recline and little side support, so I put him in a baby car seat on our outings.

There is included a choice of snack tray or two cupholders for the front child. It’s great that one is included but to have both options is brill! The snack tray swings away to give the front child access which is brilliant.

The car seat adaptor is included and is fairly universal. There is a list on the Joovy website of the main brands – they are mainly american brands but some have UK equivalents. I put a Maxi Cosi Cabriofix on the Joovy Ergo. The adaptor fits at the rear, ie parent facing, using two large pins which need squeezing into holes in the chassis. Whilst this was ok to do, it was hard on my fingers and I wouldn’t like to have to do it every day! But the car seat felt very secure once on and I liked the two stage lock on the strap to stop little fingers releasing it.

The Ergo rear seat was great for my toddler. However she had the freedom to stand constantly up and down which was a novelty after her being in a pushchair. The standing platform and handles were good.

The rear hood zips on but also attaches using toggles and “buttons”. The buttons aren’t easy to get on. The toggles and zips all feel fine to use. The top section zips off for a standing child to be able to see out.

The Joovy Ergo flip up seat at the rear gives easy access to the storage space. The basket is a good size with side pockets. There is a large gap between the front and rear seat which gives you access into the basket. However I would have loved there to have been an additional recline on the front seat – nearer to flat as the current recline is fairly shallow for a sleeping baby and yet there is space (unlike the Ultralight which does have a deeper recline) to put one on the Ergo.

The handlebar was a good height for me at 5ft 6 ins.

The front hood (when not attached to the rear canopy) does “follow the sun” and is large enough to cover two seated children.

The footbrake was easy to use.

The Joovy Ergo folded easily, however the fold is very long and it would not fit in our car.

The Joovy Ergo was also incredibly long, very heavy and difficult to manoeuvre.
