Recaro Easylife at the Harrogate Nursery Fair 2014

These photos, taken at the Harrogate Nursery Fair, show the new Recaro Easylife.

This amazing little pushchair was one of the highlights for us. We have a big interest in small folding pushchairs and have had a good number over the years. However, the Recaro Easylife appears at first glance to tick all our boxes – small folding, big seat with a decent recline. The Easylife is suitable from 6 months. The hood was a generous size for a small pushchair. The fabrics felt good quality. We loved the double stripe detail on the footrest which gave the Easylife a sporty feel. The basket was good for a small pushchair, with clear access from the rear. The handlebar was tall – which is great because not many small folding pushchairs have a handle which is a good height. The brake pushes on and off easily. There is a good 5 point harness. Best of all, the fold and reopen is completely one handed.

We were not as keen on the open mesh at each side of the Easylife. We will try and find out if this fabric has a sun protection factor.

However, the overall feel of the Recaro Easylife was of quite a robust pushchair – it feels more of a pushchair than say the Babyzen YoYo does. The 4 sets of double wheels gives it a sturdy feel too. The front wheels are lockable / swivel ones.
The fold size is 59 x 27 x 50cms which is just a little too large for an overhead locker on an aeroplane. It weighs just 5.9kgs and was easy to carry folded using the handle on the top. We liked how the Easylife freestands when folded. There was no carrying strap though, which would have been useful on this pushchair.

The Recaro Easylife comes in some beautiful jewel colours – lime, pink, green, red, saphir (blue), sunshine (yellow) and graphite.

The Recaro Easylife will retail at £189 which is less than the Mountain Buggy Nano, and considerably less than the Babyzen YoYo. The Easylife will be available to buy from June 2014.

The Recaro Easylife was fabulous – we absolutely can not wait to get one into BBHQ to try out.
