The Recaro Easylife and Citylife at the Harrogate Nursery Fair 2015

Last year at the Harrogate Nursery Fair, we were delighted to see the Recaro Easylife. This year centre stage was taken by the new Recaro Citylife.

The Recaro Citylife is a lightweight travel system with a one handed fold. The Recaro Citylife can be used from birth with the carrycot, or as a travel system with a Recaro Privia car seat. There is a good padded seat, with a lift up calf rest and a toggle recline. When reclined the Recaro Citylife has a very flat seat – we would have considered it to be flat enough for a newborn. However, Recaro explained that because there is no retainer around the foot area, they can only say that it is suitable from 6 months, under the new EU safety regulations.
The Recaro Citylife has a single adjustable handlebar, large basket and a brake which can be pushed on or pushed off. There is a neat cupholder which sits inside the handlebar.
We really love the rugged, go anywhere wheels. It is these wheels, along with the lift up calf rest, which set the Recaro Citylife apart from its competitors.
The fold is operated by pulling a handle in the centre of the seat – similar to a Baby Jogger City Mini or Joie Easylife fold. The chassis autolocks once folded.
All round the Recaro Citylife looks like an interesting pushchair. It is one that we would like to try out at BBHQ this year.

Meanwhile the Recaro Easylife has been produced with a white frame for 2015. There is also now a travel bag for the Easylife. The brake has been colour coded with red on / off brakes after feedback from Best Buggy. This makes it much clearer to know which brake to flick on or off.

We love both of these pushchairs. However, be aware that both have a fixed shoulder height, and one size does not suit all children.
