iCandy Peach Blossom 2 v’s iCandy Apple 2 Pear

This photoset shows the iCandy Peach Blossom 2 (black) side by side with the iCandy Apple 2 Pear (blue hood).

This photoset is designed purely to give an idea of relative size.

The important point to note about these two pushchairs is there is a price difference. iCandy have set these two pushchairs so that they are at two different price points to appeal to different budgets.

As we understand it the Apple 2 Pear will cost £470 for the chassis and two seat units (tandem mode), and the Peach Blossom 2 costs £845 for the chassis and two seat units.
Also required for a newborn and older sibling is a newborn nest for the Apple 2 Pear, which is £95; and the Blossom carrycot for the Peach Blossom 2, which is £185.
Total cost for a newborn and older sibling would be £795 for the Apple 2 Pear and £1030 for the Peach Blossom 2.

Funtionality wise these two pushchairs are similar.
Both seats can only forward face.
Both carrycots face each other – toe to toe.
Both car seats parent face.
The seats are a similar size to each other. Both seats on the Apple 2 Pear are the same size. The lower seat on the Peach Blossom 2 is just ever so slightly smaller.
The harnesses are similar and both come with harness and crotch pads.
Both pushchairs have foam covered chunky handlebars which feel good to hold.
The seat recline, removal and seat fitting are slightly different, but operate in a similar way.
The fold again is slightly different but is similar.
Both pushchairs are easy to use and are great to push.

There are also lots of differences. These are the key ones:
The Peach chassis folds much smaller than the Apple 2 Pear, however the Apple 2 Pear will fold with one or two seats, or one seat and one newborn nest, left in situ. Sadly we did not have the time to photograph the Apple 2 Pear folded like this for these photos. However there are plenty of photos of the Apple 2 Pear folded with both seats on elsewhere on Best Buggy. The Peach chassis will freestand when folded, the Apple 2 Pear will freestand with just the chassis, or with one or two seats on.
The Apple 2 Pear has fixed hoods, whereas the Peach Blossom 2 has adjustable hoods.
The Peach hood is made from thicker fabric than the Apple 2 Pear hood, and is quite noisy when pulled up. The Apple 2 Pear hood has a flick out visor for sunny day.
The Peach Blossom 2 has adjustable footrests.
The Peach upper seat has a bumper bar. The Apple 2 Pear has no bumper bars.
The basket of the Peach can be used in Blossom mode, whereas there is really no space in the Apple 2 Pear basket with 2 seats on when there is a toddler in the lower seat.
The Apple 2 Pear handlebar has a greater extension.
The Apple 2 Pear has the option to buy rear air tyres.
The Peach pip convertor bars are one piece which need removing to fold. The Apple 2 Pear pip convertors consist of 6 pieces. four of these pieces slot together in pairs to form the lower pip convertors. These can be left permanently in situ on the chassis when folded. The upper pip convertors could also be left in situ when folded (or on the upper seat) however we would be concerned about them getting caught and damaged, so would recommend they were removed.

The boy in the photos is 2 years 9 months old (87.5cms tall, 9th centile). He is in both the upper and lower seats of each pushchair. The Peach hood has been pushed up the chassis as far as it would go without unzipping the hood (which gives more height).

Please note that the Bumpaloop on the Peach has been added on by us.

With many thanks to Sarah Naylor and iCandy for helping us with these photos.
