iCandy Peach 3 and Peach Blossom 3 Preview at Lullaby’s Baby Den

These photos of the new iCandy Peach 3, and the Peach Blossom 3 adaptors, were taken at a preview day, at the welcoming Lullaby’s Baby Den in Scunthorpe.

The iCandy Peach 3 pictured is the new Jet colour. It looked incredibly smart and stylish with its black fabrics, matt black chassis, black wheels and white iCandy logos.

The iCandy Peach 3 is fundamentally the same as the Peach 1 and 2 generation single strollers. There have been evolving changes over the years. The biggest changes from the Peach 2 to the Peach 3 are, the different coloured chassis and new fabric options; the new water resistant tyres; and the inclusion of Elevator adaptors.

Three colourways have a matt black chassis, black wheels and white iCandy logos. These are Jet (black), Sherbert (red / grey) and Cobalt (bright blue / dark grey). Four colourways will have a chrome chassis: Fuchsia (pink / purple), Marshmallow (dusky pink / light pink), Azure (beige / grey) and Truffle (dark grey / light grey).

The Elevator adaptors, (the larger adaptors with the chrome socket,) can be used in single pushchair mode to either seat the child further forwards on the chassis – which could bring them nearer a table for example, or to sit the child higher, and nearer the handlebar to give closer parent / child eye contact and interaction. However, the Elevators do not need to be used, and the seat can be placed in the central position, as it always has done!
The Elevator adaptors are also used for the upper seat when in 2 child, Blossom mode.

The Jet carrycot in the photo is the main carrycot. This is to be used only when the pushchair is used for a single child. It sits centrally on the chassis.

We assembled the Blossom Convertor adaptors, (smaller black plastic pieces,) onto the chassis. There are 2 sets of Convertor adaptors. These are different for the front and back of the pushchair. The smallest Convertor fits at the front of the pushchair, and the larger Convertor fits at the rear of the pushchair. The front smaller Convertor allowsboth of the seats to rear face; the rear larger Convertor allows the seats to face forwards. One set, or both sets of Convertor bars may be fitted to the Peach chassis. The Peach chassis will fold with one or both Convertors left in situ.

The Convertors are very small, and will easily fit into a handbag or changing bag. Each Convertor is clearly labelled with the position where it needs to be placed. It is clear where they ‘fit’ onto the chassis once in position. In order to fit the Convertors, a small cover piece needs sliding out. The Convertor then wraps around the chassis in the correct position, and the cover slides back into position.

The Elevator bars need placing in the correct position for the direction of travel i.e. towards the parent for parent facing, or towards the front wheels for forward facing.

We did not have the Peach Blossom 3 parts to hand, however the lovely people at Lullaby’s Baby Den allowed us to use their Peach Blossom 2 lower seat, carrycot and car seat adaptors to give a feel of how the Peach Blossom 3 will look and work.

The Peach Blossom 3 has the same configurations as the Peach Blossom 2 with one additional position – the option to have both seat units parent facing – with the main seat nearest the parent, and the lower Blossom seat behind it.  We did try – in the name of experimentation (because we know we will get asked!) - putting the carrycot nearest the parent. Yes it does fit, but there is no way a child can then fit behind in the Blossom seat. However, this could possibly be an option for a parent after a nursery drop off, to be able to switch the seat and carrycot around, to walk home with the carrycot parent facing (although this may not be safety approved)??

The Blossom carrycot and the Peach Blossom 2 lower car seat adaptors with a Maxi Cosi Pebble car seat, all fitted easily onto the Peach Blossom 3 convertor bars. The lower Blossom 2 seat fitted forward facing with no problems. However it did not immediately fit in the rear facing position because two small plastic side ‘tabs’ were obstructing the fitting of the seat. This left us a little puzzled because we knew that the Peach Blossom 2 seat had been safety approved for use on the Peach Blossom 3 chassis. We phoned iCandy for help and we told that two screws on the lower seat ’legs’ need undoing (seen in the last photo). The plastic ‘tab’ pieces can then be removed, and iCandy will be sending out blanking plate pieces to fill the gap, for those who request them. The lower seat will then fit.

There are some good side by side photos in our photo set, which show the Peach Blossom 3 (with Blossom 2 carrycot) side by side with the Peach Blossom 2. This should give an indicator of the height difference which the Elevators give to the main seat, and also the relative positions of the lower seat sockets.

We did notice that the carrycot was scratched white which was a little disappointing.

All round, the Peach 3 / Peach Blossom 3 simply makes better, what in Best Buggy’s opinion, is already a perfect single and tandem pushchair. The addition of the new Elevator and Convertor adaptors opens up fresh options with the new parent facing seating position; and also a higher position for the main seat in both single and blossom modes.
Great looking and very practical for one child, or two.

A huge thank you goes to the team at Lullaby’s Baby Den, in Scunthorpe for their warm welcome, and for giving us the space and time to try out the Peach 3 and Peach Blossom 3 convertor bars. We really appreciate it!
