iCandy Peach Blossom 2 Review by Sarah

I have been using the iCandy Peach Blossom 2, for my new baby and toddler since early September, and so far its working really well for us.

We are using the Peach Blossom  2 with the Blossom carrycot which is a little on the small side, but my average length 11 week old does still have some growing room. Whether she will still fit at 6 mounts is yet to be discovered ,but for now its perfect. The carrycot is very well made with excellent protection from the elements, due to good coverage from the hood and apron. The raincover can be a little tricky to fit when out and about due to the carrycot sitting slightly under the main seat. However once its on, it fits well and is generously sized, so it can be lifted over the hood to take baby out without having to remove the full raincover. This has been really useful for us if shes going back in the carrycot within a short space of time. The raincover also has a handy flap so you can access baby without removing it at all. I’m rather disappointed with the quality of the mattress, its very soft and flimsy and the the bars underneath can be felt easily, although this has not caused our baby any discomfort. I just feel its a bit cheap for a £185 carrycot.

The main seat is nice and spacious with excellent coverage from the hood. My 2 year old fits really well and has plenty of growing room. The raincover fits well but steams up every time I use it, leaving me with a very unhappy toddler as she cant see out. One thing I’m not to happy about is the liner, it’s that thin I don’t really see the point in having it. I have also found an issue with the main seat and carrycot: the two are touching with children in and this makes it difficult to sit the main seat up if I’ve had it reclined as the board in the bottom of the seat catches on the carrycot so I need an extra hand to sit it back up. Due to how the recline on the seat works it can be quite a task to sit the seat back up with a 28lb toddler in so it is quite difficult to do this by myself. The problem seams to be that the material on the underside of the seat stretches with my toddler in and the carrycot tilts back with my baby in causing tho two to touch, but yet there is a nice size gap with no children in. This has been reported to iCandy, so I can’t comment whether its a problem with the design, or if my seat has a fault.

The new extended bars mean the Peach Blossom 2 can now be used with the Maxi Cosi Pebble which is a fab improvement. The carseat fits well and there is even enough room to position the handle back to access baby without it in the way. The main seat can’t be reclined with the carseat on but this hasn’t been a problem for us.

The new lower  Peach Blossom 2 seat is well and truly amazing. My 3 and a half year old toddler fits with ease and has tons of leg room in the basket so I know when we start using it in this mode, it will be perfect. The raincover is a bit of a letdown as its small and wont fit a child who’s legs are long enough to extend into the basket. It’s also very baggy when the seat is sat upright as the hood cant extend enough so fits better when the seat is reclined.

The chassis is extremely well made and is very sturdy even under the weight of my 2 year old and 3.5 year old. It folds really easily and is nice and compact. It’s a bit of a pain having to remove everything to fold, but this can be done really easily once you get used to it so isn’t really an issue. The handle is also adjustable so suits both me and my husband really well.

One thing I’m very disappointed about is the quality of the wheels. Within a few weeks of using it the wheels look like they are years old and pick up every stone that we go over. iCandy say the wheels are well within the recommended guidelines and they have to be soft enough to ensure a smooth ride for baby, but I can’t help but think this is what the suspension is for.

Overall the iCandy Peach Blossom 2 is a very good tandem pushchair, its extremely easy to push even with two toddlers on board. I would like to see better wearing wheels and a tandem raincover as the two separate raincovers don’t work really well.

I would recommend this tandem pushchair for a newborn and toddler, or two toddlers.
