Trends for Kids Twinner Twist Duo Review – First Outing & First Impressions!

The Twinner Twist Duo is one eye catching double pushchair! It was the Twinner Twist Duo’s trendy looks which caught our eye at the Harrogate Nursery Fair back in March. Now a few months later, the Twinner Twist Duo certainly turned a few heads on our maiden outing to the park.

The Twinner Twist Duo has a ‘Kipling’ feel to it – a rugged, outdoors style which is trendy and cool. This styling will be a huge draw for parents who are looking for a modern double pushchair, and to be honest the Twinner Twist Duo will stand out next to its twin pushchair rivals as being fresh and funky, but yet packed full of features.

I love the aluminium chassis of the Twinner Twist Duo – the rounded slim line, barely there, frame combined with the chunkiness of the thicker cuboid bars which run down each side. The slim, barely there chassis does one important thing for the Twinner Twist Duo; it gives a perception of a small neat pushchair. However in reality the statistics for the Twinner Twist Duo are very similar to those of the Easywalker Sky Duo or the Baby Jogger City Elite. It will easily fit through a standard door with cms to spare.

TFK (Trends for Kids) Twinner Twist Duo Photoset

A large photoset of the Trends for Kids Twinner Twist which is designed to complement the other photosets on here and to show off specific features of this double pushchair.

To highlight very briefly from top to bottom:

There is a parent facing carrycot on the Twinner Twist Duo. The seat fabrics however, only outward face.

The carrycot has a clever mesh covered vent which buttons up and allows air to circulate through the carrycot, or to be folded back down to keep baby cosy. The footrest can be left up or down when the carrycot is in place, but it looks neater tucked up. The carrycot also has a flick out visor on the hood. The handle forms the front of the hood frame and is very sturdy. I like the design. The carrycot also folds flatter for storage or travel.

Twinner Twist Duo Photos with Children

Some photos showing the TFK (Trends for Kids) Twinner Twist Duo with children in. The baby is 10 months – so way too old for a carrycot, but he should give an idea of how roomy it is. He is very tall for his age. The girl is 2.8 months old and again tall for her age. But she has plenty of room in the seat unit, lots of headroom, and room to stretch her legs. She looks very comfortable.

The last two photos were taken when family called round as the photos were being taken. I knew that the Twinner Twist Duo is a strong pushchair and I asked the youngest to have a photo taken really to show how much room a 5 year old had (the youngest child) in the Twinner Twist Duo. But the 8 year old wanted to sit in and then the oldest two children aged 10 and 11 asked to try too! I was still able to easily push the elder two across the gravel! Obviously these children are too old for a pushchair but I wanted to show these to show how roomy the Twinner Twist Duo is and also that it is a strong pushchair!

PLEASE NOTE: The UK Twinner Twist Duo’s will have black wheels like the photographs at the top of the statistics page, not the metal ones on this pushchair.

Our thanks go to Rob & Ian at Mojo Distribution for making this Twinner Twist Duo review possible.

TFK Twinner Twist Duo Footmuff by Fiona

When I first got the TFK (Trends for Kids) Twinner Twist Duo footmuff out the box (not having seen them but having a slight ‘everything must match’ obsession!) I was amazed by the quality, how heavy duty it seems, the amount of work that’s gone into it, and how nice it looks ‘in situ’. I was umming and ahhhing over getting them but they didn’t seem extortionately expensive and it helped that the retailer threw one in for free so I was sold!
The things I like about the footmuff:

TFK Twinner Twist Duo Review by Lucy

Thank you for the opportunity to try out the Twinner Twist. It is definitely at the luxurious end of the double pushchairs spectrum. We have a 2 and a half year old and a 6 month year so this buggy has come in handy when going on long family days out when my eldest would be tired having to walk all the time.
In particular we took it to the Race for Life and to a local Agricultural Show (a very wet and muddy day!). If I had been fitter, I would definitely have jogged around the Race for Life pushing the pushchair as it is very easy to push. Instead, the girls had a comfy seat from which to spectate from! Here are our Pros and Cons:

Twinner Twist Duo in a Mini!

A set of amazing photos of the folded TFK (Trends for Kids) Twinner Twist Duo in the back of a Mini and a Mini Clubman – and with the doors closed!

TFK (Trends for Kids) Twinner Twist Duo v’s Baby Jogger City Elite

This set of photographs shows the TFK (Trends for Kids) Twinner Twist Duo side by side with the Baby Jogger City Elite.

In some ways these pushchairs are very similar. They are side by sides, with good sized seats, large hoods, a basket, chunky off road swivel wheels and more. However there are a number of differences including the styling & brakes.

TFK (Trends for Kids) Twinner Twist Duo at Rise Hall

Yesterday we were privileged to be invited to attend a local traditional village fair. But this was no ordinary village fair because it was held at the beautiful Rise Hall in East Yorkshire, which is the country home of Property Ladder’s, Sarah Beeny. Rise Hall was featured in the Channel 4 TV programme Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare at the end of 2010, as Sarah Beeny tried to restore the house so it was suitable as wedding venue.

The first we knew about it was a text from our guest TFK Twinner Twist Duo Reviewer, Lucy asking if we had any rubber ducks she could borrow! So we swapped ducks for the Twinner Twist Duo and off we headed!

It was fab to have the Twinner Twist Duo back again. The Twinner Twist Duo is such a comfortable pushchair to be behind. We knew it would be the perfect pushchair for the grass, gravel and other surfaces we would come across and we were correct. The Twinner Twist Duo handled everything with ease, from cobbles to high grass verges (hard to drop off forwards with most pushchairs), gravel, grass, rough ground and even mud.

Mountain Buggy Duet v’s TFK Twinner Twist Duo v’s Baby Jogger City Elite Double

I really want these photos to speak for themselves.

The three pushchairs are the Mountain Buggy Duet (the small black pushchair on the left), the TFK Twinner Twist Duo (the red one), and the Baby Jogger Elite (the tall black one on the right).

The main things I want to draw your attention to is the obvious difference in height, seat size, and handle height. The first photo shows the maximum handle height of all three pushchairs. The sixth photo (from the rear) shows the minimum handle height for all three pushchairs. I am 5ft 6 ins tall and the tallest handle height setting of the Twinner Twist Duo is just right for me.

The fold sizes are quite different. The Duet is long and thin. The Twinner Twist Duo has a trifold. The Elite folds in half. All have wheels that can easily be removed. On the Duet the rear wheels remove easily; on the Twinner Twist Duo, the front wheels remove easily; and on the Elite all the wheels can be popped off easily. The latter makes a big difference to the fold of the Elite.

The Duet is the narrowest of these three pushchairs by a huge 11/12.5cms.

The Elite and Twinner Twist Duo have leg rests which lift up for the child’s comfort. They also have a lot of visible padding on the seats.

The Elite and Twinner Twist Duo have loads of storage pockets in addition to the large baskets. The Duet has a large basket and a bottle holder.

The Twinner Twist Duo and Duet will take two car seats and two carrycots. The Elite will not. All the pushchairs have seats that lie flat and are suitable for newborns.

Mountain Buggy Duet v’s TFK Twinner Twist Duo

This set of photographs shows the Mountain Buggy Duet side by side with the TFK Twinner Twist Duo. The Duet is just £19 cheaper than the Twinner Twist Duo.

Styling: I think the difference in styling is what hits you first about these two pushchairs. The Duet is sleek, sophisticated, and quietly smart in its black with grey seats & silver footplate. The Twinner Twist Duo has a variety of colours but it has a sporty more rugged, outdoors feel to it. There is more of a separation of the seats on the Twinner Twist Duo because of the separate footrests.

Size: The Mountain Buggy Duet is slim (63cms wide) whereas the Twinner Twist Duo is 11cms wider (74cms wide). The Duet is smaller height wise too. But this also means that the Duet handlebar is just 106cms high at its highest. The Duet seats are very comparable to the Twinner Twist Duo seats in size and are in fact taller and wider at the back. The width of the Duet is its major selling point, and it is amazing that there has been no real compromise in the seat sizes for the children. However the Twinner Twist Duo will easily go through a standard 76.2cms door, so you should have no problems with fitting through a door.
