Simple Parenting Doona

The Doona is an amazing concept - a 0+ infant carrier which has fold down wheels. The Doona allows the parent to use the wheels to facilitate moving the baby easily from a to b, or to lift the child up off the floor when stationary. However, whilst the Doona is suitable from birth, please not that it is not a replacement for a pushchair or pram, and should be used for the minimum amount of time necessary or according to current guidelines for 0+ car seat use.
Amazing wheels which release from the side of the car seat. Extending handle for pushing. Rotating handle for carrying. Large seat. Hood. Storage options available. Car seat protector included in the box. Fail safe mechanisms to ensure correct use as a pushchair / car seat. Narrow and neat. No need for an additional chassis / adaptors in a car.
Expensive. We have concerns over the fit of the harness (please read our full review) - it is too loose; difficult to adjust correctly and left marks on the legs of our testers. The wheels can leave grit on the car seat although a car seat protector is included in the box. The wheels are noisy to release. Very heavy. Storage options are additional cost.

The Litetrax is a buggy with a generous sized seat, good leg room for an older child, a large canopy and a deep basket. The Litetrax is super easy to push and manoeuvre about town and feels stable.When folded the Joie Litetrax easily slides into a gap for easy storage. A Joie 0+ infant carrier can be clicked straight onto the pushchair to form an easy to use travel system. A footmuff, bumper bar and raincover are all included in the very reasonable price.

The good sized seat has a good recline, for a child over 6 months to nap comfortably. There is an easily accessible storage basket and a tall handle. The Recaro Easylife can be folded one handed, and then freestands when folded. The pushchair is easy to carry using the handle.

Mamas & Papas Armadillo Flip & Armadillo Flip XT

The Mamas & Papas Armadillo Flip is a forward and reverse facing pushchair which folds and opens in seconds, one handed, with the seat on in either direction. The Armadillo Flip claims to be the 'world's most compact fold' in its class of pushchair. It is lightweight at just 9kgs. The Mamas and Papas Armadillo Flip is suitable from birth thanks to its lie flat seat. The Armadillo Flip has a large basket, large seat and a big sun canopy. A very 'sensible choice' pushchair which is suitable from birth to three.
The Armadillo Flip XT is very similar in design to the Armadillo Flip, but it has larger wheels, a telescopic handlebar, vented hood and accented fabrics.

The Mamas & Papas Armadillo Flip XT (the last photos in the set above) is a luxury version of the Flip. The Armadillo Flip XT boasts bigger wheels; a hidden mesh air vent in the canopy; extra styling features; and an adjustable extending handlebar whilst keeping a neat fold.

Neat, small fold with the seat left on facing in either direction. Quick and easy to fold with autolock. Lightweight with a good carrying handle. MASSIVE hood. One handed fold. Large seat with lift up calf rest. Big basket. Big seat. Freestands when folded. Lift up calf rest. Good, easily adjustable harness. Raincover included. Easy and intuitive to use, with good attention to detail.. Great value for money.
Telescopic handlebar, vented hood, and larger wheels on the Armadillo Flip XT.
A little heavy to push for a small stroller. Big chunky buckle which splits into 5 pieces if unlucky! Pulling the hood up, can make the seat come up too. Fixed height handle.
The Armadillo Flip XT is slightly wider, and thus the fold is a tiny bit larger overall than the Armadillo Flip.

The Mamas & Papas Armadillo City is a very compact folding pushchair with a ultra narrow frame so that it will fit through small spaces. Perfect for public transport or tightly packed shops! The Mamas & Papas Armadillo City folds in seconds and can be opened just as quickly. We love that the fabric is inside the folded package, thus keeping it clean. A handy handle makes the Armadillo City easy to carry. There is a large shopping basket and generous seat which is suitable from birth. The huge UPF 50+ sun protective hood had a peekaboo window and even a toy loop to keep a child entertained.
Very compact fold - fabric folds inside so stays clean. Autolocks when folded. Quick to fold and to open. Narrow. Large SPF 50+ hood. Tall seat. All round suspension. Large basket. Full recline - suitable from birth. Easy carrying handle. Toy loop. Raincover is included.
Fixed handlebar. Moderately heavy side to push. Awkward large chunky buckle to do up. Relatively low hood. Opening can be a little awkward if the wheels stay together.

Stokke Scoot 2014

The Stokke Scoot has been updated. There are new rubber, foam filled wheels and a bigger sun visor. There is an extra mid-recline position when both forward and reverse facing. The hood can have 30% ventilated area if desired to prevent build up of heat inside the canopy. The handlebar is a rotating one to allow more leg room for the adult to walk behind. The Scoot still folds neatly, one handed, with the pushchair forwards or reverse facing; has a huge basket and a large seat.
Compact and neat. Large seat. One handed fold. Folds neatly with the seat left on in either direction. Longer stride space for the adult. Large extending hood with ventilation. This updated Scoot has 3 instead of 2 seat recline positions. Large basket. Will freestand with the seat folded forward facing but not rear facing.
Price. Heavy for a smaller sized stroller. No calf / leg support for a sleeping older child (see our Stokke Scoot review photos). The new handle and wheels mean the fold is not as neat or as easy to unfold as the previous version. It is easy to get the handle stuck behind the wheels if it isn't positioned correctly. The mid recline is still quite upright. No autolock so can 'flap' when being carried. No carrycot option but there is a softbag. The enclosed seat makes it difficult to buy a footmuff or liners. The recline fabric bunches around the child's head when they are sat upright. Mesh vents near the child's head. Footrest fiddly to fit and move. The handle has a lot of side to side movement. The recline is not simple - to go from a deep to mid recline involves undoing one pair of difficult clips, and then doing up another set - tricky and slow to do 4 clips! The fold handle release is very stiff on our Scoot compared to the older version.
