The Bugaboo Cameleon is a luxurious pushchair with a superb finish and quality tailored fabrics. The Cameleon is a travel system with carrycot, seat and car seat options. There are numerous fabric colour options to give your Cameleon a personal feel. The Cameleon is an all terrain pushchair that looks great in the city too. All round this is a top of the range pushchair for a baby or toddler and is difficult to fault.
The Bugaboo Cameleon has had several updates since its launch in 2005 and now named the Cameleon 3 plus it features a redesigned rotating carry handle with replaceable faux leather handle grips, an updated under seat basket which is now easier to access. The Handle is now reversible so you can have the large puncture proof wheels at the front when handling rougher terrain.

Pros:

Extremely versatile - lots of options, colours and accessories. Car seat compatible. The carrycot fabric and pushchair fabrics are included and fit onto the frame as required. Two off road options as the handle can either flip over to give reverse steering with the larger wheels at the front, or can be clicked into two wheel mode and pulled across a beach or snow. Flat when folded. Good quality. Large storage basket. All terrain front wheels are an option. 2 year warranty. The seat can be lifted off and used as a seat on the ground - great for picnics, or the handle can be folded down to be tucked under a table at a restaurant! Machine washable fabrics. Easy to push. Highly manoeuverable.

Description:

The Bugaboo Bee Plus is a fantastic little pushchair for nipping around town. It has a reversible seat so the child can face in either direction. A Maxi-Cosi car seat makes this a good travel system. The Bugaboo Bee can be folded with the seat on. Narrow for even the smallest of spaces and highly manoeuverable. With its extending backrest and seat bottom, this stroller is one that grows with your child.
The new Bugaboo Bee3 carrycot will fit the Bee Plus.

Pros:

Compact, slim and nippy. One piece fold. 4-wheel suspension. Suitable from birth using the Baby Cocoon. Reversible seat. Extending seat back and seat bottom - easily adapts for use for different aged children. Travel system compatible. Large seat. Light to carry - can be hooked over a shoulder to carry upstairs. Decent sized basket. The new hard bottomed carrycot will fit.

Cons:

Relatively large when folded for a small pushchair. An urban pushchair. Does not freestand. Fiddly to change the seat round. Difficult to unfold when the seat is parent facing. Too light, so that wheels are often off the ground when cornering. Expensive.

The futuristic Silver Cross Halo is a small neat folding but luxurious pushchair. It is packed with features to give maximum comfort to your child. Suitable from birth with a lie flat seat, but with the option to convert to a travel system too.

Pros:

Stylish. Easy to fold. Neat flat fold with the fabric inside. Easy to push. Sturdy. Good child comfort including a thick liner, foot muff, and lift up calf rest. Good sized seat. Recline. Reversible seat liner and footmuff included. UV protective hood with visor.

Cons:

No basket as such - there is a mesh which is great for coats but its hard to put larger bags under and small items simply fall out. Hard fixed height handlebar. The steering at times is not very responsive. The Footmuff falls off easily. Be aware several batches were subject to recalls.

The Kolcraft Contours is a fantastic tandem pushchair with many options. The seats are independently reversible into many configurations. Up to two car seats can be added to the chassis (one car seat adaptor is included). Older children can walk and hold onto handles at either side. A parent tray, comfortable handle, newborn head huggers and huge basket are all included.

Pros:

Lots of different configurations. The seats are easy to click on and off. One car seat adaptor is included in the package. Parent tray. Handles for a walking child to hold. Great value for money.

Cons:

This is a US import so will not meet British safety standards. Seats say they are suitable from birth, but they are deep bucket seats and we would not advise use of them before 6 months. Some areas show a cheap build quality especially in the basket area. Long! No carrycot option.

Twins Freestyle Cool

Description:

The Twins 'Freestyle Cool' is a comfortable side by side pushchair for twins or siblings. The independently reversible seats give a choice of direction for each child. Carrycot and clip on car seats give travel system options. Air or Foam filled tyres make this pushchair suitable for all terrain.

Pros:

Lots of options! The choice of carrycots or seat units or car seats. Great value for money. Independently reversible seats. Light and easy to push. Large shopping basket. Raincovers, bumper bars and aprons are included. The carrycots are nicely lined with a mattress. Small folded if the wheels are popped off. Large seat units. Lovely changing bag.

Cons:

Wide. Seat units are a little bulky to store. The release catches for the seats and carrycots are tucked underneath and are hard to release - the carrycots could not be released with a baby inside. Raincovers are thin. Fixed hoods add to the bulk when storing.

The MyChild Pinto is a fantastic pushchair. It can be used from birth with the addition of the carrycot or car seat. It is stacked with features which are normally found on higher price pushchairs, such as magnetic hood flaps, a one handed seat release and a huge accessible covered basket for shopping or days out. The seat can be parent or outward facing and the chassis folds with the seat left on.

Pros:

Stylish and smart with good attention to detail. A travel system suitable from birth. One handed seat release. Huge shopping basket with removable liner. Reversible seat. Folds with the seat on. Easy to open. Comes with raincover and cosy toes / liner. Swing away bumper bar.

Cons:

A 3 step fold with a chunky "squeeze" button right in the centre of the handle. Cheap wheels. The cosy toes is thin. Cheap harness. The seat is not suitable from birth - a carrycot or car seat is needed for a newborn. Fabric footrest is not able to support bigger feet.

The Britax B-Dual is a brilliantly designed inline tandem pushchair with numerous options offering flexibility to a growing family or to newborn twins. A great modular travel system with carrycot, soft cots, car seat fixing points and comfortable seats suitable from birth. Probably the best all round tandem on the market for pushability combined with storage space and good space / seating for the children, both in toddler and in newborn / travel system mode.

Pros:

A travel system that works well for twins from birth or for a toddler and new baby. Many configurations including two car seats, two carry / soft cots and two seats and combinations of these. Good basket with side accessibility. A neat package with good handling. Large extendable hoods offering good sun protection. Easy to use as a single as well as a tandem. Integrated adaptors for upper car seat and carrycot. A very good option for twins.

Cons:

Soft carrycot is tricky to get in and out of the bottom seat. Basket openings aren't large enough to get a large changing bag through and storage space is restricted with the soft cot and second seat. No foot rests for either child. Seats seem a little shallow for older children who struggle to sit up straight.

Pros:

A traditional looking pushchair / pram with a lot included in the package: pushchair, footmuff, apron, pram liner, carrycot stand, mattress, raincover, changing bag and moses asket set. Carrycot is suitable for overnight sleeping.

Cons:

Heavy and large. Bulky when folded and difficult to lift. Although it could save money buying a moses basket, it could also annoying to keep removing the fabrics / carrying it up and down stairs to the pushchair chassis or car. The classic chassis has non swivel wheels which make it hard to manoeuvre.

Silver Cross Surf

Description:

The Silver Cross Surf is a smart, stylish looking pushchair, suitable from birth, with carrycot and car seat options. Beautifully finished and with attention to detail. A newborn babynest insert is included along with a parasol, seat liner, apron and insect net. Built from magnesium alloy and with aIr suspension.

Pros:

Everything you need is included in the Surf package. A carrycot is an optional extra but not essential as the seat is suitable from birth. Air suspension. Light. Forward or rear facing.

Cons:

Two tiny shopping baskets. The main one is largely inaccessible in newborn mode. Seats needs removing to fold. Hard to fold.
Sold in the catalogue as "all terrain" but our tests have shown that the Surf is not suitable for "all terrain". Please read the full review for details.

Additional information:

Unusually the seat on the Silver Cross Surf is larger with the seat liner in place. This is because the liner raises the child up and because the Surf is egg shell shaped, the seat widens towards the top.

The Foundations Quad Stroller can easily seat four children in two rows of two. There is plenty of storage space, and two large canopies.

Pros:

Can carry 4 children up to a maximum of 18kgs per seat. The front seats have a small recline, the rear seats have a deeper recline. Handbrake. Front bumper bar.

Cons:

Wide - 81.cms which is wider than a standard doorway. 3 point harnesses. No lie flat seats. Large folded.
