Sturdy and stable even if a toddler tries to climb into the rumble seat without a baby in the upper seat. 3 seating configurations including a car seat option. A single stroller sized tandem option. Rumble seat has a foot rest attached thus keeping a toddlers feet away from the basket contents. The Junior seat has only been tested on 2011 models although apparently will fit older models, but will not fold on the chassis. Only parent facing. Heavy and large when folded. Uncomfortable seats for both children. Duo seat is fiddly and badly designed. Articulated steering device means a rear wheel drive. Small basket. Not much space for a newborn means they outgrow being laid flat before 6 months. Expensive.

The iCandy Strawberry is a beautiful looking pushchair with parent & outward facing seat & storage basket. An innovative compact folding carrycot is included with the Strawberry 2 (separate on the Strawberry 1) and travel system options make the Strawberry suitable from birth. The Strawberry folds with the seat attached with a one handed fold into a standing fold. A comfy large seat with sliding hood gives good space for a toddler. A memory system remembers the last seating position. A choice of flavour packs easily gives a fresh look for a new baby or a different season.

Great looking 3 wheel pushchair. Carrycot, seat and car seat options make this pushchair suitable from birth. One handed fold chassis and freestanding when folded. Easy to manoeuvre. Beautiful to push when walking or going off road. Front wheel removes, and the front of the chassis folds for a very compact fold which fits into the boot of a Mini.
A little unstable on certain surfaces e.g. cobbled slopes. The front wheel is sluggish when doing tight turns. The front wheel can be hard to remove if not done regularly.

A competitively priced tandem pushchair with different configurations for two children of different ages. Very easy to manoeuvre even with older children on board. Main seat converts very easily into a carrycot for a newborn but this limits use of the lower seat. A useful travel system option by adding a car seat. An excellent tandem, ideally for children 6 months+.
Great value for money as the carrycot converting seat and second seat is included in the package. A good looking pushchair. Folds with both seats still attached. Takes a Hauck car seat which simply clips onto the frame. Can be used as a single. Good reflective strips for high visibility at night. Plenty of room in the lower seat for an older toddler. Good sized basket. Easy to push and to tip up kerbs. Comfy handlebar with good range of height settings. Large hoods. Good deep seats. Easy to use footbrake.
The carrycot and infant carrier does not sit well with the second seat - it will only fit on if the lower seat is reclined. Folding and adding the second seat takes some practice but its easier when you know how! Large fold with two seats on. The lower seat doesn't have sides as such on, so a baby / younger toddler likely to nap is better in the upper seat.

A 3 wheeler inline pushchair that evolves with your child(ren) from a single child, to a toddler and baby, or two toddlers. Large pneumatic tyres ensure a comfortable ride wherever you choose to travel.
A pushchair for two that is not much bigger than a single buggy. The main seat can accommodate a child from birth to around five years old. Compact fold. The air tyres make the Phil & Teds Sport light & easy to push & steer. Easy to keep clean. A cocoon makes removing a baby easy.
Lack of storage space with doubles kit. Nowhere to put a changing bag unless the strap is long enough to go beneath the lower seat. Brake hard to use. Lower seat only reclines whilst the child's head is lower than the top bar on the seat back as the child has to fit under the bar. Heavy to lift. Baby in a cocoon can't be secured. Not much room for the lower child's feet if the stop seat is reclined. Car seat doesn't fit with doubles kit on.

A quality, sturdy comfortable travel system for twins, or toddler and baby. Ultra manoeuverable with one hand using a steering wheel. The one handed fold allows you to hold your baby whilst folding. The huge shopping basket is easy to access. A great value tandem pushchair.
Can take one or two infant car seats. A compact fold considering the open size. Lots of storage space. Adjustable handlebar with steering wheel. Easy to push the buggy one handed and hold a toddlers hand at the same time. Raincover is easy to throw on. Comfortable seats. Good value for money. No car seat adaptors required.
The front seat and hood are small for a toddler. The Quattro Tour Duo is very long which can be an issue for manoeuvering in tight spaces. Going up kerbs can be difficult. Shopping basket may drag on the floor when full. Front seat is not suitable from birth. Raincover not included.

The Quinny Zapp Xtra is a stylish, very compact pushchair suitable from birth, with parent and forward facing options. The Zapp Xtra has a small footprint and folds down extremely small. The Zapp1 is a two piece fold. The Zapp2 is a one piece fold. It is highly manoeuverable and agile. A great little very practical pushchair.
3 forward facing, and 2 parent facing seating positions. The small fold is brilliant. Travel system option with Maxi Cosi car seat adaptors included. Good quality and a great looking pushchair. Easy brake system. Easy to remove the seat one handed. Stable for a 3 wheeler. Small but useful basket. Easy add on the fabrics or replace the seat top. Huge seat with good leg length. Water and dirt repellant fabrics. Raincover included. Decisive on / off brake.
Low handles. Rattly to push. Seat needs removing on the Zapp Xtra1. There is nowhere to store the seat adaptors - these are very easily lost, and are relatively costly to replace. No recline on the Zapp. No upright seat position parent facing on the Zapp Xtras. Xtra seat is very exposed for a newborn. Can be extremely difficult to fold or unfold when new. Needs two hands to replace the seat unit.

The Mountain Buggy Duet is the smallest side by side twin pushchair on the market at just 63 cms wide. A newborn twin travel system, taking one or two carrycots / parent facing seats or car seats. Flexible options - seats, carrycots / parent facing seats and car seats all combine on a slim chassis. Narrow but with no compromise on seat size (We measure the seat sizes to be the same as the larger Mountain Buggy Duo). Large storage basket. Large individual hoods. Bumper bar is included. Easily fits through a standard door, narrower than a Baby Jogger City Select tandem!
Two Maxi Cosi car seats sit slightly staggered, but also overhang by approx 9cms each side (Cabriofixes). Two car seats would make the Duet approx 81cms wide, so too wide for a standard door frame. The car seat adaptor requires the lower half of the fabric to be removed (or all of it). This makes it hard to do a swift change over from car seat to seat mode, as the adaptor needs removing, and the poppers, zip and buckle all need doing back up. This may be important when a child is over 6 months old and no longer in a carrycot. Fold may be too large for a compact car. Storm / raincover is extra. Whilst a carrycot comes with a raincover there is no single raincover option for a baby / toddler configuration. Heavy to carry. Safety buckle is great but there is an additional easy to undo buckle on the child's shoulders for an easy escape!! Heavy to push with older children in. The Out 'n About Nipper 360 2011 is the lightest double pushchair available to buy. It is highly manoeverable and with large air tyres it offers a comfortable ride for two children around town or across uneven ground. Brilliant for two older heavier toddlers.
Big air tyres for easy handling. Great storage pockets and lovely padded seat inserts on independently reclining seats. Suitable from newborn to age 4. Lots of storage pockets. Compact fold for easy transportation. Weighs 10kg so very light.
Some children do not like the bucket type seats although these have been improved to make them more upright. The first V2 Nipper 360 are 77cms wide which means it shouldn't fit through a standard UK doorway at 76.2cms, however apparently the triangular footprint means it will go through most doorways with a wiggle. In 2012 a new narrower Nipper V2 was introduced at a fantastic 72cms wide! Check the width if you are buying. The storage basket is an extra and access is very poor (better if the board is not put in).

Bugaboo Donkey 3

The Bugaboo Donkey is designed to be able to transport one or two children of different ages or twins easily. It provides good storage baskets for shopping, changing bags etc. The Bugaboo Donkey converts from Mono mode to Duo mode in three clicks. The Donkey can be easily converted to two wheel mode to pull across sand.
The Bugaboo Donkey 3 is the updated version for 2020 and the same great features from previous models have been carried through onto the Donkey 3 but it also now features updated fabrics and luxury faux lather finishes to the handles and bumper bar. The weight capacity has also been improved and the Donkey 3 will accommodate a child up to 22 kgs in each seat.

Large bulky fold (smaller if put in 2 wheel mono mode) but there is a new smaller folding chassis coming out in September 2012. Difficult to convert from Mono to Duo - takes strength and involves bending down / leaning over. No raincover for either small or large storage baskets. Each car seat adds approx 6cms to the side of the frame so this makes the Donkey a large 86cms wide with two car seats on, or 80cms with one car seat one which means that the Donkey will then not fit through a standard doorway.

The V2 has a new flatter fold chassis. However the flatter fold is achieved by removing the rear wheels. Otherwise the fold is the same size if the wheels are left on.

In mono (single) configuration the Bugaboo Donkey is 60 cm wide, which is the same width as the Bugaboo Cameleon.
3 wired hood which gives the child more head room.

The Phil&Teds Verve is a stunning modern inline pushchair. Amazing compact fold with both seats attached. Smooth reclines on both seats for comfortable sleeping. Travel system with car seat compatibility, and easy viewing of a newborn in the rear. Engineered for smooth handling & easy pushing. The 2014 Verve also has the option of a parent facing doubles kit.
Great looking! Superb handling across rough ground. Easy to lift up kerbs and steps. Car seat attaches easily with doubles kit on. Both seats recline easily. Fab fold with both seats attached into a neat freestanding package. Easy to alter straps. When the doubles kit is on top in newborn mode. There is lots of room for both baby and toddler. Parent facing option.
The hoods are flimsy and there is a gap at the back of the main seat. Great for summer but not for winter. The doubles kit is awkward to fit on and the hood needs removing to fold. Not much leg room for the lower child (just 10cms from the knee to the basket floor!!!!) and certainly no storage space in the basket. Not much of a view for the lower child. Heavy to lift once folded. Lower seat cushion keeps moving. Access to the lower seat to put in a baby is poor. Straps dangle in lower child's face when upper seat is slightly reclined.

You do get a single raincover included but a double one is an optional extra. There is a sunhood for the lower seat but its an optional extra too. Lower Seat reclines slightly. Will take the Peanut bassinet and car seat only when a single.

Britax B-Dual 2011

The Britax B-Dual 2011 is an inline tandem pushchair with numerous options offering flexibility to a growing family or to newborn twins. A great modular travel system with carrycot, soft cots, car seat fixing points and comfortable seats suitable from birth. Probably the best all round tandem on the market for pushability combined with storage space and good space / seating for the children, both in toddler and in newborn / travel system mode.
A travel system that works well for twins from birth or for a toddler and new baby. Many configurations including two car seats, two carry / soft cots and two seats and combinations of these. Good basket with side accessibility. A neat package with good handling. Large extendable hoods offering good sun protection. Easy to use as a single as well as a tandem. Integrated adaptors for upper car seat and carrycot. A very good option for twins.
Soft carrycot is tricky to get in and out of the bottom seat. Basket openings aren't large enough to get a large changing bag through and storage space is restricted with the soft cot and second seat. No foot rests for either child. Seats seem a little shallow for older children who struggle to sit up straight.

The 2011 version has adaptors which push the seats further apart and makes the front seat higher. However the hood height has also been reduced from the previous model, but included in the box are two adaptors to extend the hood height by several more inches should you wish to.

Versatile travel system especially for newborn twins with the use of car seats or carrycots. Eye catching design. Compact one hand fold with easy to store stacking seat units. Easy to push. Can be used as a single pushchair at any time.
Becomes heavy to steer with older children in. Seat units aren't that roomy. We suggest a maximum age of approx 2 yrs in the large seat and 18m in the smaller seat. Seats only face the same way as the other- ie both forwards or both backwards. The raincovers are awkward to attach and not very big. Shopping basket small and access is poor.

The two Pear seats HAVE TO face in the same direction ie both forward or both rear facing. The exception to this is when using two car seats, when they can face each other. The Pip convertor turns round 180 degrees. But the 'blue' seat will always remain in the higher position, and the 'yellow' seat will always be in the lower position. This is worth noting if you have a toddler and a baby combination as the baby will be tucked away behind the toddler in parent facing mode, or with its back to you if the toddler is facing outwards.
It is possible to upgrade an iCandy Apple to a Pear by buying the Pip Convertor and Second Seat. This would give a larger 'blue' seat with the small 'yellow' seat. It is not possible to use the larger 'blue' Pear seat with the Apple seat as the Apple seat has to sit in the 'blue' position on the Pip convertor.
In single mode, the Pear uses the larger 'blue' seat but it can only sit parent facing OR outward facing - not both together. The Pear comes with the seat parent facing but there are instructions for how to unscrew & turn the adaptors around to make the Pear outward facing on the iCandy website.

Baby Jogger City Select

The Baby Jogger City Select is an exceedingly adaptable tandem pushchair that offers lots of combinations to suit a growing family's needs. We know of at least 19 combinations which work either as a tandem or single. Takes two carrycots and car seats for twins. Folds very easily down to a neat flat package. Great suspension, storage and manoeverability. A fantastic pushchair whether as a single or a tandem.
The choice of different seating positions and options is amazing! Folds very easily and flat. The seats are only a few inches thick and stack easily. So a great option for a small car boot. Large comfy seats with fantastic hoods for rain and sun protection. The shopping basket is enormous. The City Select is a very sturdy, stable pushchair without being heavy to push. Adjustable handle. Baby can parent face at the front, and toddler face outwards at the back.
Can be hard to tip up kerbs. Feels heavy with two older children in. Can be hard to push on cambered or cobbled surfaces. Raincovers can be hard to put on especially with combinations where the seats are under one another. Consider carefully which positions the seats can recline in, if your children need to nap. Wide and long as a single pushchair - something which may annoy if always used as a single; as a double you would probably make the compromise for the versatility.

Length depends on exactly which position you place the front seat. The carrycot at the front is probably the longest position and two seats facing forwards is probably the shortest.
Please note that in the photos of the BJCS in single mode below it is missing the covering caps above the front wheels because this pushchair is usually used as a tandem. These covers are included as standard.
The City Select can be folded as one piece (not recommended but there is a photo on this website), or as a single pushchair with the second seat (removed - the adaptors can be left in situ or removed), or it can be split into the chassis, 2 seats and adaptors which gives a very slim fold which is great for small homes and cars.

Especially good for newborn twins until approx 18mths - 2 years old. Easy one handed fold to a compact size. Extendable soft comfy handle. Easily altered into a single stroller.
Back Seat only reclines. Lower Carrycot very small. Seats small but liners can be removed. Poor longevity for baby and toddler. Seats & carrycots different sizes so possibly an issue with same size twins. Basket hard to access as a double. Need to remove toddler to remove carrycot or car seat. Poor access to lower seat. Seats don't stack easily to store. At present you can't use the lower carrycot in the middle as a single stroller. Lots of pieces to put together & store. Expensive.

At the Harrogate Nursery Fair iCandy showed us around the new 2011 version of the Peach Blossom. This will have identical sized seats (although there are slight differences), and identical sized carrycots. The seats have been pushed further apart to allow two Maxi Cosi Pebble infant carrier to fit onto the chassis and to allow more space between the children. This also allows the back seat to sit upright. The liners 'officially' remove now making more space for older toddlers. All round the new improvements are fantastic and will really really make a difference to virtually eliminating the cons of the Peach. However the new Peach Blossom will be released in the US first in summer 2011 and then the UK at the end of 2011.
