The Silver Cross Pop Sport Duo is a good looking twin buggy with matching accessories making a great value package. An one hand umbrella fold double side by side stroller. Suitable from birth with independent hoods and reclining seats backs. A practical all round pushchair.

Pros:

Easy to set up. One handed umbrella fold. Raincover, smart looking footmuffs and head huggers are included in price. Lightweight. Useful pockets on the hoods. Good for shopping, walking on pavements or going across grass in the park. Large hoods.

Cons:

No middle handle making one handed pushing difficult (eg through a small gap or holding a child's hand). The two small shopping baskets are hard to access particularly with the seats reclined. Supposedly suitable from birth but the seats don't lie completely flat. In theory should fit through a standard door frame (76.2cms) but it depends how well the door opens. Can be bulky to store.

Pros:

Lots of options! The choice of carrycots or seat units or car seats. Great value for money. Independently reversible seats. Light and easy to push. Large shopping basket. Raincovers, bumper bars and aprons are included. The carrycots are nicely lined with a mattress. Small folded if the wheels are popped off. Large seat units. Lovely changing bag.

Cons:

Wide. Seat units are a little bulky to store. The release catches for the seats and carrycots are tucked underneath and are hard to release - the carrycots could not be released with a baby inside. Raincovers are thin. Fixed hoods add to the bulk when storing.

Two Maxi Cosi car seats sit slightly staggered, but also overhang by approx 9cms each side (Cabriofixes). Two car seats would make the Duet approx 81cms wide, so too wide for a standard door frame. The car seat adaptor requires the lower half of the fabric to be removed (or all of it). This makes it hard to do a swift change over from car seat to seat mode, as the adaptor needs removing, and the poppers, zip and buckle all need doing back up. This may be important when a child is over 6 months old and no longer in a carrycot. Fold may be too large for a compact car. Storm / raincover is extra. Whilst a carrycot comes with a raincover there is no single raincover option for a baby / toddler configuration. Heavy to carry. Safety buckle is great but there is an additional easy to undo buckle on the child's shoulders for an easy escape!! Heavy to push with older children in. Handle is relatively low even at the highest setting.

The Bugaboo Donkey is designed to be able to transport one or two children of different ages or twins easily. It provides good storage baskets for shopping, changing bags etc. The Bugaboo Donkey converts from Mono mode to Duo mode in three clicks. The Donkey can be easily converted to two wheel mode to pull across sand.
The Bugaboo Donkey 3 is the updated version for 2020 and the same great features from previous models have been carried through onto the Donkey 3 but it also now features updated fabrics and luxury faux lather finishes to the handles and bumper bar. The weight capacity has also been improved and the Donkey 3 will accommodate a child up to 22 kgs in each seat.

Pros:

Smart and Stylish. Lovely coloured tailored fabrics. Just 74cms wide in duo mode. Flexible travel system options include seats, carrycots and car seat adaptors. Children can face parents or outwards independently in 21 configurations. Huge handlebar extension will suit parents of all heights. One handed seat recline. One handed seat & carrycot removal, fold and extensions. 74cms wide with seats or carrycots on. Lots of storage space. Folds with seats / carrycots on and freestands.

Cons:

Large bulky fold (smaller if put in 2 wheel mono mode) but there is a new smaller folding chassis coming out in September 2012. Difficult to convert from Mono to Duo - takes strength and involves bending down / leaning over. No raincover for either small or large storage baskets. Each car seat adds approx 6cms to the side of the frame so this makes the Donkey a large 86cms wide with two car seats on, or 80cms with one car seat one which means that the Donkey will then not fit through a standard doorway.

Description:

The Out 'n About Nipper 360 2011 is the lightest double pushchair available to buy. It is highly manoeverable and with large air tyres it offers a comfortable ride for two children around town or across uneven ground. Brilliant for two older heavier toddlers.

Pros:

Big air tyres for easy handling. Great storage pockets and lovely padded seat inserts on independently reclining seats. Suitable from newborn to age 4. Lots of storage pockets. Compact fold for easy transportation. Weighs 10kg so very light.

Cons:

Some children do not like the bucket type seats although these have been improved to make them more upright. The first V2 Nipper 360 are 77cms wide which means it shouldn't fit through a standard UK doorway at 76.2cms, however apparently the triangular footprint means it will go through most doorways with a wiggle. In 2012 a new narrower Nipper V2 was introduced at a fantastic 72cms wide! Check the width if you are buying. The storage basket is an extra and access is very poor (better if the board is not put in).

Pros:

Cons:

Cons:

Unfolding can be tricky. Baskets are hard to access and small. Heavy and bulky to lift and store. Small wheels can make it hard to push over some surfaces. Seats are quite small - a 2 year old doesn't have much space to move. Parent windows on the hoods are only useful when seats are laid flat. Hoods are meant to be removed to fold, but if you leave them on, then they get dirty when folded.

The City Mini GT Double has been updated to the GT Double 2 and now benefits from all wheel suspension adjustable calf supports and near flat recline. There are 3 colour options available and a wide range of accessories also each set can accommodate a child up to 22 kgs.
The first 10 images are the GT Double 2, the rest are the original model.

Pros:

Large seat units - bigger than the City Mini. Handbrake, adjustable handle. Huge hoods. Easier to access large basket with additional storage pocket. Upright seats which recline to flat so are suitable from birth. Option to have one or two compact carrycots - when 2 carrycots are added the seat fabric can be stripped off to make a great looking twin pram. Highly manoeuvrable. Folds very flat for a double. Removable auto close lock. Fits through a standard doorway.

Cons:

Any other cons are yet to be discovered, but all my City Mini Double cons have been addressed in the GT model, so hopefully it will be a perfect twin pushchair.

The Love N Care TwinGo is probably the side by side that most twin parents dream of! Independent seats allow each to outward or parent face. The TwinGo takes one or two carrycots and each seat reclines to near flat. Huge hoods protect the chlildren from the elements. A huge basket makes outings and shopping easy whilst the width means that standard doorways are no problem. A real gem of a pushchair.

Pros:

Two independently operating seat units which click onto the chassis in either direction. Carrycot, infant carrier or seat unit options all from birth. Easily fits through a standard doorway. Tall seats and long leg rests easily accommodate a taller toddler. Easy to push. Huge basket. Easy to fold with both seats on. Separate bumper bars are included. Massive hoods.

Cons:

The harnesses are very short but another could be attached. Fiddly harness fastenings! Fixed handlebar. The hood fabric is not very thick. Liners would need to be cut off to remove.

Bumbleride Indie Twin

Description:

The Bumbleride Indie twin is a very stylish, smart side by side double pushchair. This all terrain, lightweight, narrow twin pushchair is quite brilliant to push. The Bumbleride Indie Twin is packed with features to give great comfort to the adult or the small passengers.

Pros:

Lift up footrests, bumper bars, large hoods, adjustable handlebar, a large shopping basket, strap recline. Very lightweight and narrow for a side by side pushchair. Air tyres. Cupholder is included. Old fashioned by good storage locks!

Cons:

A bit tricky to open and fold. The footrests tend to pop up when the pushchair is opened and may need putting down again. The fold is a little bulky for such a small, lightweight pushchair. No hood viewing window. Bumper bars need putting down to fold.

Description:

The Britax B-Agile Double pushchair is a light, easy neat folding twin pushchair. It features the same quick fold design as the single B-Agile but it works better! The handlebar is adjustable which makes the B-Agile Double comfortable for parents of differing heights. The B-Agile Double stroller takes one car seat. There is good storage on the B-Agile Twin with easy access from all sides to the basket.

Pros:

Very light and easy to lift and carry. Neat folded and freestands well. Quick fold. One Britax car seat can be fitted. Quick release wheels. Large accessible shopping basket, and two large storage pockets. Locakable swivel wheels.

Cons:

The seating positions are not the best for toddlers.
The width of the B-Agile Double as 78cms wide which is much wider than an older standard doorway. We struggled to use the B-Agile on public transport.
